Tassimo machines are really nice, but you can get away with brewing your own coffee if you’re ever out of t-discs. Here’s how I brew my own coffee blend with a Tassimo single serving brew station.

this is hilarious. I can boil up a pot of hot water and pour it thru a paper filter setup with spending a bundle on that useless machine. I had one, got fed up and gave it away, then got a Keurig. The Tassimo is ridiculous to try and clean, esp if one of the milk pods “explodes” which they do at times. Get a Keurig! Better yet, there’s hotel supplier that makes a super one-cup brewer for $30!

Oh yeah, and I forgot.. My Tassimo would leak if I filled even a millimeter over the max fill line by mistake… All over the freaking counter. And it ruined the little descale/cleaning instructions that slots into the back with the service disc. Another thing, the Keurig does hot water too if you don’t put a K-cup in, no service disc. Also, taste transfer was a big problem on my Tassimo. I haven’t had that with myKeurig at all, but some people do. I can do a coffee, then a tea, and no problems
The cleanliness of the Keurig & the variety of coffee (some faves: Creme Caramel, Hazelnut, Sugar Bush Maple, Italian Roast) & tea (mentioned earlier) & iced teas (faves: Sweet Berry Lime Green, Tropical Breeze White) & one-touch decent size brew (10oz into 12oz mug) trumps the Tassimo. I hated how the T-discs usually drip when you take them out. Opening the lid tilts the disc backwards towards the inlet hole! WTF! Creamer especially is messy..
BTW, Dunkin’ Donuts is also coming to Keurig soon.
I’ve probably tried 150-200 different K-cups so far, and I tried to figure out my favorites from that, but there’s so many good ones (and some that I don’t like, such as the white hot chocolate or most of Timothy’s flavored K-cups). The ONLY flavored T-disc I owned was Maxwell House French Vanilla and it was decent, but that’s all I could find, and I had to order it online, too. The Tassimo barcode tech is neat, but cup sizes is an issue. I do find most coffees I tried on Tassimo to be stronger.
I have six boxes of teas for Keurig in my cupboard, and only one of them is a standard green tea (decaf), the others are things like Mandarin Orange Spice, Lemon Zinger, Pomegranate Berry Fusion… The variety is really staggering… I have three boxes of iced teas, a box of hot chocolate, five boxes of different decaf coffees (including a tasty hazelnut), and about a dozen boxes of all different coffees, flavored and regulars. Then I have a bag of mixed K-cups that I bought to try out.
@SalsTavern alright, well, I hated having to hold the stupid button in to fill my cup. My Keurig isn’t top-of-the-line, but I can choose 8oz or 10oz, and I don’t have to stand there waiting. And I didn’t like how letting go of the Tassimo button doesn’t stop the filling, it sprays out a large amount and then keeps dripping. I’ve seen a total of maybe 2 drips in a couple hundred of cups brewed with my Keurig. The main thing for me is that there are about three teas for Tassimo.
I had this Tassimo, and it broke after 4 months. Got it replaced, no fuss, but by the time it came back I had bought a Keurig. The variety of K-cups is staggering. Now that Starbucks ditched Tassimo and announced Keurig support coming this fall.. The only thing Tassimo has going for it is the cappuccino+lattesy, but I decided that it wasn’t enough and sold mine. My Keurig was cheaper, and far less messy. I found my Tassimo dripped for a long time after brewing. Much more to say but I’ll stop.
“filter holder”… ha
That really doesn’t seem to save much time to me…
@parabellumdude one reason could be that the Tassimo is single serve, no coffee pot and filter to wash out…
why would you do that with a full machine next to it.. wow the irony.
@gcbus oh snap! hope you can return it for a new one!!
My Tassimo “exploded” and the water poured out of the base!!
@mcleodweaver yah, i hope to get my hands on a Keurig and try it out….
sorry about the double post my cat stepped on the post button.

How is stale preground folgers or a kcup “good coffee” . That’s like calling McDonald’s hamburgers good meat.
@adolson wow, your Tassimo was a real lemon! You know what I REALLY love about Keurig? The REFILLABLE cup!

@adolson please continue, these are customer opinions based on experience with the product. But i have to say, I’m shocked about the Starbucks news!
